Feminine and striking are two words that I would use to describe Madeleine and our session together. She has the poise and grace of someone much more mature and the fun personality of that girl that everyone wants to be friends with. And I should mention that she has the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen! Madeleine and her mom are the amazing floral designers behind Jennifer’s Gardens. When she told me that I could take creative control and pick out the style and location for the shoot, I immediately knew that I wanted to try something a little darker, a little more dramatic, with a little less clothing…ha, I’m kidding. We had a great time, I loved how it turned out!

Lisa Marie + Van

With Valentine’s day right around the corner, the timing of this post couldn’t have been more appropriate. This post is a tribute to love. Lisa Marie and Van contacted me a few months ago to do a session, but here’s the beauty: they weren’t getting married, they aren’t even engaged. In fact, at the time we met, they had only been together for four months! When Van initially emailed me, his email was brimming with happiness and I could feel their love as he wrote:

“…[we] are madly, head over heels in love with each other. We see a joint portrait as a way of commemorating the beginning of what we both feel will be a very long relationship.”

Thank you for inviting me to spend the day with you Lisa Marie and Van! May your love be everlasting and the the joy you feel today pale in comparison to the joy you will feel tomorrow.

The Colors of Asia : Charity Calendar

As much as I love shooting weddings and getting couples in love to cuddle and kiss on cue, producing W.A.V.E.’s (Women’s Alliance for Vietnam’s Education) annual charity calendar is something I look forward to every year. W.A.V.E. is  a non-profit organization made up of exemplary college students who work year round to raise money to fund educational programs back in Vietnam. This is the third year we’ve collaborated and it’s truly a labor of love. It’s a nice change of pace for me and giving back to the community is always good for the soul. Contact me if you’d like more information on where these calendars are being sold. You know you want one……..or at least know of someone who might ;)

Here are just a few of my favorite shots:
