The Colors of Asia : Charity Calendar

00_cover.jpg

As much as I love shooting weddings and getting couples in love to cuddle and kiss on cue, producing W.A.V.E.’s (Women’s Alliance for Vietnam’s Education) annual charity calendar is something I look forward to every year. W.A.V.E. is  a non-profit organization made up of exemplary college students who work year round to raise money to fund educational programs back in Vietnam. This is the third year we’ve collaborated and it’s truly a labor of love. It’s a nice change of pace for me and giving back to the community is always good for the soul. Contact me if you’d like more information on where these calendars are being sold. You know you want one……..or at least know of someone who might ;)

Here are just a few of my favorite shots:

Courtney + Adam

Since they met by chance in a parking garage, it was only fitting that we begin their engagement session there as well. The two of them were so fun to work with and had no problems relaxing in front of the camera. I went with a more neutral-toned session to complement their “English garden meets a weekend at the Hamptons” inspired wedding in March. It’s going to be absolutely fabulous. CAN’T WAIT! See you guys very soon!

Amanda + Ken

Amanda and Ken planned their fabulous jewel-toned wedding all the way from Miami, Florida. With the help of Denise Silverman of Soiree, their evening included fun details like the appropriately selected Austiny signature drink, the ‘Bat-tini’, a streamer exit and of course their darling pugs! Amanda and Ken may have been the stars of this show but their two pugs came in as a close second! There’s just something irresistibly cute about having our furry friends in the wedding party with little corsages dangling from their collars. Honorable mention goes to their flower girl and ring bearer who, being at that age where they can be pretty unpredictable, made for some pretty cute photos too. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.!

Since they were married on the 8th, I felt this ring shot was quite appropriate.ak35.jpgak36.jpgak37.jpgak38.jpgak39.jpg

There’s just something very romantic about getting married by candlelight.
